Procedure : FISTULA SURGERY (FISTULECTOMY)
ABOUT FISTULA SURGERY (FISTULECTOMY):
During this procedure, whole of the fistulous tract is excised from the external to the internal opening. The primary wound may or may not be sutured. Alternatively, Fistulotomy may be performed where the tract is laid open, contents are flushed out and is flattened by stitching it to the sides of the incision. Surgeon may use Seton placement/Seton stitch during surgery. This is performed by a General Surgeon.
